Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- For the Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C
Grease a doughnut pan
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt
In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined
Spoon the batter into the prepared doughnut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the doughnuts are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into one comes out clean
While the doughnuts are baking, make the glaze by mixing the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth
Once the doughnuts are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely
Dip each cooled doughnut into the glaze, allowing any excess to drip off, and place them back on the wire rack to set
